Welcome to the website for Grace Church of Ovilla's Youth ministry. Our mission is simply to love God and love people. Feel free to browse around our site to learn more about our ministry and how you can be involved.
Hey Everyone! Our next upcoming Youth event is Broomball Hockey. Now, you may not know exactly what Broomball is exactly, so I’ll fill you in.
Broomball is similar to traditional hockey, except there are a few differences. We play in the ice rink in the Plaza of the Americas. We have teams, goalies, and goals. However, we don’t use skates, we wear our tennis shoes out on the ice. And instead of hockey sticks, we use these broom-like sticks. See the picture below. And instead of using a normal puck, we use an inflatable ball. The Plaza provides the helmets, so we split into teams of 10 each. Since it’s cold out on the ice, it’s reccomended that you wear some jeans, and a good pair of tennis shoes.
So, on January 20th, we will leave the church for the Plaza of the Americas (in downtown Dallas) at 6:00pm, so we need you to be at the church at 5:45pm. We have scheduled playing time from 7:00pm - 9:00pm. Afterward, we will either go out to eat, or come back to the church for some food. That will be decided this upcoming Wednesday night, so check back later on this week for an update. The cost for this event is $15, but you’ll want to bring more if we go out to eat. Please let us know A.S.A.P. if you plan on attending, as we need to coordinate drivers for this event. Also, BRING YOUR FRIENDS! The more the merrier! 20 people play at a time, and we have the rink for 2 hours, so that’s plenty of time for everyone to have some icy fun!
Contact Marilyn Reed (214-763-0627) or DJ Walsted (972-765-1818) to let us know if you’re coming! Hope to see you there!!

Hey Everyone!
So, it was brought to my attention that the calendar shows the Sit Out Theatre this weekend. That’s incorrect. We are postponing the date to a later time, because everyone will be busy on Friday nights for the next few weeks because of the Playoff-bound Red Oak HAWKS and Ferris Jackets!
And I forgot the password for the calendar, so it will remain up there until I remember it…oops!
Keep checking back for an update soon!

Hey Spelunkers!
Allison set the blog up, it can be found HERE
If you’re not exactly sure what I’m talking about, ask one of the Sr. High Youth about Spelunking! It’s our “hardcore Bible study” that we have once a week. This is our second time spelunking, and this topic is “Experiencing God - Youth Edition”.
If you’re interested and in the Sr. High, contact us and come join us as we grow closer to our Lord and to each other.
Happy Spelunking!

Camp is just around the corner! Remember that we leave Tuesday morning and will not be back until Sunday early afternoon. Get excited and be in prayer about all that the Lord is going to do! In honor of all that is about to occur at camp next week, I thought it appropriate to write a little poem.
(uh hu)
Camp is fun
At camp there is always sun
We are not Catholic. No need to be a nun.
You can eat a hot-dog or a hamburger on a bun.
From Tuesday to Sunday, don’t bring your gun!
We will tell jokes…we might make a pun.
We will walk, skip, and run.
Oh! What a delight camp is for each one!
We will camp and camp until we are done.
And then we will pack up our fun, sun, nonexistent nun, hamburger on a bun, our joke for each one, and we will all run….
home.
