Weekly Meetings
- Sunday School (SS): Our Junior High students meet on Sunday mornings at 9:15 for a participative, interactive time of relating God’s Word to our lives today. Our Senior High students lead our Children’s Ministry during the Sunday School hour by building relationships with the children, helping workshop leaders and leading in the time of worship through music. This encourages our youth to serve others within the church as a role model for our children as well as provides leadership opportunities within each team.
- SonDay Alive! (SDA): This is a versatile time, so we plan to meet on Sunday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM unless we have a special event. If the times are different, they will be posted on the youth calendar. We believe the Lord is the Great Creator of the whole earth, and as such, deserves to be worshipped creatively! Some Sunday evenings we will learn how we can use our talents and gifts to both worship and pray through the usage of the Creative Arts. Other evenings, we will go out to different locations in the Dallas area in order to interact with people in our culture. We learn more about the people that we live with and the God we serve by sharing his love with those that we meet. Lastly, through an environment that is low key and not intimidating, we will also have fun events to which we will be able to invite our friends who may not know Christ.
- Seeking Our Savior (SOS): We meet on Wednesday evenings from 7:00-9:00 PM for a time of digging deeper into God’s Word and using our acquired skills of Bible Study Methods.
Pluggin’ In
We desire to help each student discover his/her spiritual gifts so that they may use them along with their talents to encourage the body of Christ. This year our goal is to focus on these areas:
- Music: We have a student worship team that leads worship on most Wednesday nights and some Sunday nights. Students can also be invited to participate with the adult worship team that leads worship on Sunday morning.
- Drama: We have a growing drama team that is in need of more members with creativity! Students may participate in evangelistic dramas, children’s dramas, and many more theatrical avenues to enhance worship.
- Creative Arts: We are developing a broader range of worship through the creative arts by using photography, painting, chalk talks, writing, and much more. We are also hoping to start making videos this spring! Students who have an extra dose of creative juices and a desire in any of these areas are welcome to join.
- Media /Web: We are currently developing this area by training students to use the technical equipment at the church. Select students also may learn how to maintain the website.
- Writing: We want to develop this creative art by writing poetry, drama scripts and devotionals all in response to worship.
